Recruiting data API for AI agents

Short answer: RecruitMCP is a recruiting data API for AI agents: one API key gives your agent people search, profile enrichment, lists and find email and phone, over REST at https://api.recruitmcp.com or MCP at https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp.

Built for agents

  • Dry runs: dry_run=true previews cost and changes nothing.
  • Approval threshold: above it, calls return approval_required and a confirm token instead of spending.
  • Idempotency-Key on paid calls, so a retry never charges twice.
  • Strict filters: an unknown filter is refused with unsupported_filter, never silently ignored.
  • Per-key scopes and daily caps, plus customers (sub-workspaces) for platforms that serve their own clients.
  • Webhooks and events for jobs and contact lookups.
  • Privacy: suppressions, erasure and a public opt-out are built in.

First call

export RECRUITMCP_KEY=rmcp_live_xxxx   # your key, kept server-side

# Preview a search (dry run: charges nothing)
curl -X POST "https://api.recruitmcp.com/v1/people/search?dry_run=true" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer ${RECRUITMCP_KEY}" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"filters":{"current_job_titles":["Backend Engineer"],"geo_ids":["<from /v1/lookups/locations>"]},"exclude_seen":true}'

Or connect over MCP

Cursor (.cursor/mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "recruitmcp": {
      "url": "https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:RECRUITMCP_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http recruitmcp https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer ${RECRUITMCP_KEY}"

or in .mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "recruitmcp": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${RECRUITMCP_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}

claude.ai uses OAuth: add a custom connector with https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp and paste your key on the consent page.

FAQ

REST or MCP?

Both use the same key, scopes, prices and errors. Use MCP inside Claude, Cursor or other MCP clients; use REST from your own backend.

What is the rate limit?

120 requests per minute. A 429 sets Retry-After and RateLimit headers.

Can I build a product for my own clients on it?

Yes. Customers are sub-workspaces with their own seen register, lists, suppressions and daily cap; select one with the RecruitMCP-Customer header or a bound key.

Does RecruitMCP send outreach?

Not yet. Outreach is coming soon. Today RecruitMCP covers search, enrich, lists and find email and phone.

Can I test without spending credits?

Yes. Add dry_run=true to a search to see the estimate. A dry run charges nothing, and an empty result is free.

Where do I keep the API key?

In a server-side environment variable such as RECRUITMCP_KEY or a secret store. Never put it in browser code or version control.
